Fort Mill High Nominated as Finalist for SC’s “Finest Schools”

Out of the 20 South Carolina schools that applied, Fort Mill High School was one of the nine schools chosen as a finalist for the 2012 Palmetto’s Finest Schools Award! The schools are evaluated by educators and previous award winners based on areas including program goals, community involvement, teaching quality and student achievement. A second visit will be received by the finalists and two elementary schools, one middle school and one high school will be chosen as the winners on March 27 in Columbia. Here is the complete list of finalists.

  • Fort Mill High in York County
  • Beech Hill Elementary in Dorchester
  • Brushy Creek Elementary in Greenville County
  • Burgess Elementary in Horry County
  • Stone Academy of Communication Arts in Greenville County
  • Beaufort Middle in Beaufort County
  • Kelly Mill Middle in Richland
  • Blythewood High in Richland
  • Hilton Head Island High in Beaufort County

The community is anxious and excited to be honored with such a prestigious nomination as it shows off the strength and integrity of our education system and institutions here in Fort Mill.
